I was responsible for building design systems across eCommerce, collaborating closely with the web development team to implement and launch designs. Together, we successfully launched over 20 products, including multifunctional displays, radar, and sonar technologies, across 36 countries and multiple languages. Every design needed to account for regional differences, both through design systems and localised content. I also worked with the marketing team to support storytelling efforts, ensuring products resonated with diverse audiences worldwide.
I embarked on a journey to explore the future of the B&G sailing app, with a strong commitment to prioritising the user. This involved a deep dive into understanding the needs, challenges, constraints, limitations, and desires of sailors. To achieve this, we conducted both qualitative and quantitative research. Through qualitative research, we engaged in one-on-one conversations with our typical users, identifying recurring patterns and themes to understand what they value, enjoy, and dislike. These insights helped us form initial hypotheses about user behavior and preferences. To validate and refine these hypotheses, we conducted quantitative research, surveying 650 sailors with targeted questions designed to uncover broader trends. This data enabled us to compare findings, draw meaningful conclusions, and shape the app’s direction with confidence. Additionally, we conducted a profiling survey to establish a clear user persona, ensuring our app development remained focused on real user needs.

I collaborated closely with the Product team to develop the new operating system for the MFDs, ensuring a seamless and cohesive experience across the entire ecosystem. This involved aligning design principles, functionality, and user interactions to create a unified interface that enhances usability and performance. By maintaining consistency across devices, we aimed to provide sailors with an intuitive and integrated experience, reinforcing the strength of the B&G ecosystem.
Gaining deep user insights enabled me to put the user at the heart of every decision, ensuring that the solutions we developed truly addressed their needs. By understanding their behaviours, challenges, and expectations, I was able to prioritise features and design choices that enhanced their experience. This user-first approach not only guided the development of intuitive and effective solutions but also fostered a more seamless and meaningful interaction within the ecosystem.
